Today, we mark a significant milestone in the journey of Sphere Holdings as we celebrate our 20th anniversary! It is a momentous occasion that would not have been possible without the incredible support of our team, partners, and stakeholders.

Two decades ago, we embarked on a mission to create something meaningful, something that would not only generate financial returns but also create a lasting impact on South Africa. Sphere was born out of this vision, and since then, we have been on an incredible journey.

I want to extend my deepest gratitude to my colleagues, and in particular fellow founder – Pulane Kingston,  Aadil Carim CA(SA) and Marang Denalane who were there from the very early days.

At Sphere, our philosophy has always been about the long term. We believe in nurturing partnerships with founders, management teams, and shareholders in our investee companies, working collaboratively to build great businesses that stand the test of time. It’s this dedication to sustainable growth that has been the cornerstone of our success. As we celebrate this milestone, I want to express my heartfelt appreciation to our partners at our investee companies. Your unwavering support and commitment have been the driving force behind our success, and we look forward to many more years of growth, partnership, and impact.

We are proud to have generated attractive returns for all our capital providers, and in particular the broad based non-profit shareholders (Student Sponsorship Programme , Ditikeni Investment Company, Mindset, Disability Empowerment Concerns) who we gifted shares at the founding of Sphere, enabling them to further their important missions and positively impact communities in South Africa.
