Prior to joining Sphere, Sascha was an associate at PAPE Fund Managers from 2012, where his responsibilities included the screening, due diligence and execution of transactions and portfolio management. During his tenure he was part of the deal teams that concluded a number of transactions for PAPE.
Sascha’s start in private equity and banking came through joining RMB under their “Class Of” programme, an initiative developed by RMB’s founder, Paul Harris, to bring in individuals from non-traditional banking backgrounds. At RMB, over a period of three years, he was involved in risk, credit, financial engineering, trading and private equity.
Pre-banking he owned a specialist proprietary software business for five years, consulting to the mining and manufacturing sectors, and used his firm’s capital to invest in South African property and US equities.
Sascha graduated with a Bachelor of Science Honours in Computer Science and Bachelor of Science in Computational and Applied Mathematics from the University of the Witwatersrand and a Masters of Business Administration from the Graduate School of Business at the University of Cape Town.
